German 2A: Assignment for 10/13/14: Kapitel 8: Wie man fit und gesund bleibt

German 2A: Kapitel 8.   NOTE: Class will meet from 6-7:25, please be punctual!

After completing this assignment, begin work on lab manual and workbook for Kap. 8

Write answers to A, listen to B and check answers

Study Neue Wörter, p. 236 and Wortschatz, pp. 258-259

Read Landeskunde-Info, p. 236.  How is this system different from the one in the US?  How is it similar? 

P. 236: Listen to Thema 1, at least twice, p. 236 and write answers to A, B. 

p. 237: Prepare answers to Akt. 1, Schritt 1 and write 3-4 sentences for Schritt 2, 4 for 

Schritt 3: give reasons why you do 2 positive things for your health and reasons why you don't do 2 of the activities in Schritt 1.  


Akt. 2 will be done in class. 


Thema 2, p. 238

Begin/continue to work through the workbook/lab manual.

Listen to "Ein Telefongespräch", p. 239, read along with the text and write/check answers for A, B

Akt 3, p. 240: Write 5 sentences, describing Christoph's story.  

Akt 4, p. 240.  Listen and number body parts referenced

Read: Landeskunde-Info, p. 240 and be prepared to answer the two questions.  

Akt. 5, p. 241, listen carefully and answer questions.  Look over all possibilities before listening to each dialog. 

Read Sprach-Info, p. 241

Akt 6, p. 241: be prepared to do this in class. 



Grammatik im Kontext, pp. 244-245

Read Subordinating Conjunctions and Indirect Questions

Write answers to Übungen 1, 2 

Prepare answers to Üb. 3 to discuss in class

Read Landeskunde-Info, p. 246 and prepare answers to questions

P. 246: Übung 4 will be done in class.  Be prepared to make some statement and use "weil" in your reply. 

P. 247: Prepare answers to Übungen 5, 6, and note word order.  If it helps, feel free to write the answers.  

Write answers to Uebung 7, paying special attention to word order/verb placement  


Notice that 4 and 6 will start with "ob" in the dependent clause.
