Read Landeskunde-Info, p. 236.  How is this system different from the one in the US?  How is it similar? 

P. 236: Listen to Thema 1, p. 236 and write answers to A, B. 

Then: Write 5-6 ways YOU look after your health, using phrases in A

p. 237: Prepare answers to Akt. 1, Schritt 1 and write 3-4 sentences for Schritt 2, 3-4 for Schritt 3

The 2/24 office hour will be held from 4:50-5:50 p.m. in the Language Lab in the Library, 4th floor of the Mission Center.  Stop by to clarify or review anything before the test, which will be given during class time on 2/24.

German 2B - Assignment for February 24

No class next Monday, on 2/17.  

Continue working on the Workbook and Lab Manual, Kapitel 11.  Be sure to do the Journal section.  Students receive credit for completing this section.  As mentioned in the course information, you are to  to correct your work in the workbook, using a different color of pen to show your corrections (if any!).The answer key to most of the exercises are in the back.   No credit will be given for assignments that are not self-corrected.  This is not busy work!  It is actually a helpful exercise!

Read and study “Ein Stellenangebot and prepare answers.
Study Neue Wörter, pp. 328 and 329
Read and study Eine Bewerbung and order sentences
Write answers to Akt. 8
Play Akt. 9 and check answers.  Rewrite 1, 3- 7 using some form of negation, see pp. 339-340 (also assigned below)
Akt. 10, p. 330.  Prepare answers to both S1 and S2 roles to do in class.

Schreiben: 

Ein Lebenslauf. Sie bewerben sich um einen Platz als Austauschstudent/Austauschstudentin 
in Österreich. Dafur müssen Sie einen kurzen Text über sich selbst schreiben. Beschreiben Sie in Ihrem Text: 
• Ihre Schulausbildung 
• Ihre Berufsausbildung oder Berufserfahrungen (work experience) 
• Ihre Interessen 

Ihr Text sollte 50–60 Wörter lang sein. (20 Punkte) 

You may gather your vocabulary together, prepare some answers, but written notes may not be used during the test!

Since we didn't get to Übung 14, here are the correct answers.   Compare them to what you wrote:

Note:  There will not be a class on 2/17, due to Presidents' day, so I am assigning a bit more so that we don't fall behind with the material. 

Students should already be working on Kapitel 7 workbook and lab manual.  If you didn't complete it for German 1B, please do so now to hand in on the 24th.  The lab manual and workbook reinforce the textbook material, so it's a win-win situation!
